On-campus COVID-19 Evaluation and Testing

Reporting Your Positive COVID-19 Test Result

If you were tested at a non-university location, please upload your positive test result to MyHealthSpace. This is critical to assist the university in managing your needs and to notify contact tracers of your results. Just login using their UofSC username and password and then on the next screen their date of birth. Then, click on Messages tab and then click on New Message button. Send message with attachment to I want to UPLOAD my COVID-19 Test Result.

There are two primary types of COVID-19 tests available to students, faculty and staff at the university. See which one best fits your situation.

Without Symptoms:

Saliva Assay Free Expedited (SAFE) Testing

The Saliva Assay Free Expedited (SAFE) test is free, quick, and noninvasive. It should only be used by individuals that are not experiencing COVID-19 symptoms like fever, cough or shortness of breath. Results can typically be shared within 24 hours after the sample is collected. SAFE testing is only available to current students, faculty and staff. Learn more at sc.edu/salivatest.

With Symptoms:

COVID-19 Diagnostic Nasal Swab Testing

It is very important that any student that develops symptoms of COVID-19, like fever, cough or shortness of breath, make a telemedicine appointment to be evaluated by a provider. If needed, an appointment for a test will be scheduled. Costs for test will be billed to your health insurance.

COVID-19 Nasal Swab Test Result: Your test result will be available in your MyHealthSpace account. Once logged in, go to Medical Records on left-hand navigation or under the menu button (mobile). Then, click on the Lab tab. Your test result should be posted here. If you have a positive result, Student Health Services will also contact you with guidance and for contact tracing.

Make your appointment at MyHealthSpace.
