Fueling Bodies & Minds: Shaping food culture on college campuses
Conference topics and presentations included:
- Promoting evidence-based balanced nutrition, intuitive eating and health at any size among students on a college campus.
- Identifying food insecurity and mitigating barriers to food access including campus and community food pantries and financial nutrition assistance programs.
- Utilizing best practices, policies, systems and environmental strategies to improve
accessibility, availability, marketability and sustainable sourcing of fruits, vegetables,
whole grains and lean proteins.
About the Conference
The Healthy Campus Summit is hosted by Healthy Campus Initiatives within Student Health Services in support of the campus’ Healthy Carolina vision to create a healthy campus environment through the collaborative development, promotion and assessment of policies, programs, services and initiatives that address all dimensions of wellness for the members of the University of South Carolina campus community.
This year’s summit is brought to you by a collaborative partnership among Carolina Food Co., the Leadership and Service Center, and Student Health Services. Together these entities strive to shape the food culture at the University of South Carolina.
