Executive Committee
The USC Staff Senate executive committee includes the president, vice president, parliamentarian,
treasurer and secretary.

Cami Reid, President
Cami Reid, M.Ed., is a proud alumna of the University of South Carolina’s South Carolina
Honors College and Top Scholar program who is passionate about creating meaningful
educational experiences that empower students to thrive. After beginning her career
as a middle school science teacher, she returned to her alma mater as an academic
advisor and student engagement coordinator.
Today, Cami serves as recruitment manager for the South Carolina Honors College, collaborating
with campus partners to recruit and yield intellectually curious students from across
the nation. She oversees the Honors Ambassadors program, transfer admissions and Honors
Orientation and has taught honors UNIV 101 and UNIV 401, reflecting her ongoing commitment
to student development both inside and outside the classroom.
Cami earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle Level Education from the University of
South Carolina, a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Columbia
College and a Professional Certificate in Building Resilience through Trauma-Informed
Leadership from Columbia College.
As a member of the Staff Senate executive committee, Cami is dedicated to engaging
staff across the university, advocating for their voices and experiences, and elevating
initiatives that strengthen the Carolina community.

Katie Annan, Vice President
Katie Annan, M.Ed., LAT, ATC, is the assistant director of graduate student services
in the Arnold School of Public Health. A USC alumna with nearly two decades of experience
in higher education, student services, professional development and education, Katie
began her career as a high school teacher and athletic trainer, where she taught Health
Science and Sports Medicine courses while supporting student-athletes.
Katie currently serves as chapter sponsor for the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta
Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, where she supports student leadership and organizational
development. Katie is passionate about staff engagement, leadership development, and
fostering a collaborative and inclusive campus community.
She holds both a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a Master of Education
in Higher Education Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Stephanie Richards, Parliamentarian
Stephanie Richards serves as the manager of planning and technology for the Office
of Student Services with the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she began her career in higher education in
2012. In her current role, Stephanie oversees daily operations, manages the advising
calendar, leads the implementation of student services technologies and collaborates
closely with campus student support offices.
Stephanie's dedication to student success and institutional excellence has been widely
recognized. In 2019, she received the HRSM Staff Member of the Year Award. She served
as a USC staff senator from 2024 to 2026, contributing to the membership and bylaws
committees. In 2025, Richards received two prestigious honors: the USC Institutional
Academic Advising Award for Advising Administrator and the USC Staff Excellence in
Innovation Award.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Howard University and a Master of
Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina.

Manda Tuk, Treasurer
Amanda “Manda” Tuk, MPA, is honored to have been reelected to serve a second term
as Staff Senate treasurer. A Louisiana native, Manda began her career as a middle
and high school teacher in Baton Rouge before relocating to South Carolina with her
husband in 2022. She joined the University of South Carolina as a business operations
specialist in the College of Education, serving there for four years before transferring
to the Controller’s Office, where she currently works as assistant director for reporting
and analysis. Manda is a recent MPA graduate and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in
political science with a research agenda focused on public finance reporting best
practices and transparency efforts. She has received certificates in business management
and accounting as well as treasury management, data visualization, generative AI,
and JavaScript and R coding.
Now in her third year of Staff Senate service and second term as Staff Senate treasurer,
Manda is committed to making financial information more accessible, transparent and
actionable through regular, comprehensive reporting and standardized processes that
promote financial stewardship. She believes that providing clear and accurate financial
information empowers informed decision-making and strengthens organizational accountability.
During her first term, she introduced monthly treasurer’s reports and established
a standardized process for requesting Senate funds, aimed at improving transparency
and consistency. Prior to joining the executive committee, Manda served as a senator
for the College of Education and as co-chair of the Bylaws Committee.

Emily Miles, Secretary
Emily Miles is the director of strategic communications and marketing for the Floyd
School of Medicine. Emily leads a dynamic multimedia team that highlights the outstanding
accomplishments of the school’s faculty, staff, students, alumni and more through
multiple communications channels. Prior to her role at the School of Medicine, Emily
spent nearly 20 years working in college athletics, including serving as an assistant
athletic director for South Carolina Athletics, where she led communications, media
coordination and public relations for the Gamecock men’s basketball team, including
during the historic run to the Final Four in 2017.
Emily earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration from Ball State University,
where she was a four-year letter winner in women’s soccer and a founding member of
the women’s soccer program.

Chris Burkett, Immediate Past President
Chris Burkett, Ed.D., serves as assistant dean for student services within the College
of Education, where he leads the student support enterprise including advising, clinical
experiences and the Teaching Fellows program. This endeavor allows College of Education
teacher candidates a “one-stop shop” for all their student services needs. Chris began
his teaching career as a social studies teacher and athletic coach at Dutch Fork High
School in Lexington School District Five, where he served for 11 years. He has more
than 30 years of experience within the field of education.
Chris earned his bachelor’s degree from Newberry College, his master’s degree in education
from Columbia College and his Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration
from Nova Southeastern University.
