What is a Preston Associate?

Associates regularly join students at dinner, offer seminars and classes to residents, and advise students on academic matters. They also attend events, banquets and other student activities. Many Associates even collaborate with residents to plan unique activities on their own.

 

Associate Expectations

This service to the University should take 2-3 hours per month, to include: 

• Attending events
• Joining students for meals 2 times per month
• Inviting students to existing events in your college
• Creating informal and personal relationships with students outside the traditional classroom setting
• Participating in various initiatives in Preston Residential College such as review­ing travel and research grant applications, and reading/scoring student applica­tions for residency
