Research and Teaching Interests

Dr. Davis’s research uses qualitative and quantitative methods to better understand how culture, race, and ethnicity influence health communication and survey methodology, with a particular focus on working with Latinx and African American populations.  Dr. Davis’s research addresses topics such as how to mitigate culturally associated measurement error in health surveys, how culture influences health behaviors, narrative communication, and tailored health communication.  She teaches graduate courses in health communication and research methods.
