Biography

The Enos Lab is focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating sex differences in obesity, particularly with respect to metabolic and inflammatory processes.  A particular emphasis is the role that sex steroids and their tissue-specific receptors have in regulating glucose and fatty acid metabolism.  Additionally, the lab is interested in exploring complementary and alternative therapies for the treatment of menopause-induced side effects, including excess fat mass accrual as well as metabolic and inflammatory perturbations.  The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in order to perform metabolic phenotyping of rodent models.
