American Civil War Research Database

The American Civil War Research Database is an online resource for researching the individuals, regiments, and battles of the American Civil War. Originally created by Historical Data Systems, Inc., the database contains indexed, searchable information on over 4 million soldiers and thousands of battles, together with 15,000 photographs. With thousands of regimental rosters and officer profiles, the database will continue to grow as new information is loaded semiannually.

ITER brings together a significant body of materials for the study of the Middle Ages through the Renaissance (400-1700). The online bibliography includes more than 862,000 records for articles, essays, books, dissertation abstracts, encyclopedia entries and reviews, collected from almost 6,000 publications, including 1,500 journals produced. The 1984 revised and expanded edition of John Shawcross’s Milton: A Bibliography for the Years 1624-1700: Revised and For the Years 1701-1799 is also included.
