Off-Campus Access

University Libraries is here for you no matter where you are. Discover all the ways to use library resources and services when you're away from campus.

Online Resources

Students, faculty and staff can access subscription databases, online journals and ebooks away from campus using their network username and password.

If your login is not working, test your username and password. You may need to reset your password using Self Service Carolina.

To access from a foreign country, you may need to download and install a virtual private network (VPN) client which is available at no cost from the university.

Book Delivery

If you live outside of Richland or Lexington counties, books can be mailed to your home address.

  • When requesting from the library catalog, choose Mail as the Delivery Type and select Distance Education Book Delivery in the dropdown menu
  • Traceable mail service recommended for any books returned by mail
  • In your Interlibrary Loan account settings, pick Mail to Address as preferred delivery method and select Distance Education as your status

You can also use the PASCAL Delivers service to request books and have them delivered to any participating academic library in South Carolina.

You need a CarolinaCard or Library ID card from Distributed Learning to check out books at Thomas Cooper Library or at other PASCAL libraries.

Article Delivery

Request articles and book chapters not available online to be delivered electronically using your Interlibrary Loan account. Enter the citation details and the library can provide a PDF.
