Don’t forget to add your guide to the library’s homepage!

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

You can submit a request to add a subject or course guide to the drop-down list on the Library’s homepage. Go through whatever channels you normally use to request an update for a webpage (most likely Web-Submit or through your department “webbie”.  This is the ONLY way your guide will be available on the LibGuides tab!

LibGuiders,

The LibGuides team has finished working on the homepage. Please take a moment to do 2 things with your guides:

1) Please ‘associate’ your published guides with one of the subject areas listed on the LibGuides homepage. To do this login in to edit your guide. Just above the tabs you will see an option to “Change Status”, click there and you will see the option to associate your guide w/a subject. You may only choose one subject. If you feel your guide should be associated with more than one subject please send me an email with the name of the guide and which subjects you would like to associate. This can be done in the administrator panel. Also, please add any course guides you have created to the subject called “USC Course Guides”.

2) Don’t forget to add tags to your guides. This is another way students can find their way to your guide. To add tags, hover over “Guide Options” on the top right hand of your screen. You will see an option to “add/edit tags”. Read the instructions and tag away!

While you are in there, check your guides for errors!

Thanks,
Beki
