Once Upon a Furl in a Podcast Long Ago: Using New Technologies to Support Library Instruction

This program was sponsored by the Women’s Studies Section of ACRL. It and was one of the best programs that I attended while at ALA and provided me with a lot of instruction ideas.

Joan Lippincott, Associate Executive Director, Coalition for Networked Information, started the program with an overview of the NetGen, characteristics of deeper learning, and implications for libraries and learning.  Lippincott believes that we are now seeing a convergence of literacies.  Specifically, written literacy, information literacy, technology literacy, and visual literacy.  Libraries tend to focus on information literacy. However, information literacy is becoming more intertwined with technology literacy.  (more…)
