Robin Roberts is co-founder
and president of National Media Research, Planning
and Placement, a family of
companies focusing on strategic public affairs communications.
National Media has been providing winning campaign
and media strategies to candidates, trade associations,
corporations and coalitions for more than 30 years.
Established in 1981, National Media and its related
companies provide strategic communications and advertising
services, including creative, research, digital and
media planning and placement to corporate clients as
well as political and issue-advocacy campaigns. Presidents,
senators, governors and members of Congress as well
as Fortune 500 companies turn to National Media for
their media initiatives. Roberts is also a founding
partner in Purple Strategies, a bi-partisan corporate
communications, reputation management and issue advocacy
firm based in Washington, D.C.
As one of the most experienced political and issue-advocacy
strategic media planning and placement professionals,
Roberts has supervised media research and placement
for more than 300 campaigns over the past 30 years.
In 2000 and again in 2004, under Roberts’ guidance,
NM provided all media research, planning and placement
services for the Bush-Cheney campaigns. In recent years,
National Media has provided media planning and placement
services for a number of national campaigns, including
the Republican National Committee, National Republican
Senatorial Committee, and National Republican Congressional
Committee.
In 2009, Roberts founded the Washington Media Scholars
Foundation, a 501 (c)3 organization that provides academic,
scholarship and career opportunities to undergraduate
students interested in the public affairs advertising
industry. Since the organization was founded, 75 students
have been honored with scholarships and awards.
A native of South Carolina, Roberts holds a bachelor’s
degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina.
In 2004, he was named a Distinguished Alumnus by the
School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Roberts
also serves as Advisory Board Chairman of the Bucknell
Institute for Public Policy.
Roberts and his wife, Beth, live in McLean, Va., and
have two daughters. |
