Donald Miles

Donald is the OIRAA Office Executive Director and the university’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Accreditation Liaison.  As the Executive Director, he supervises a talented and professional group of OIRAA staff who serve as the official sources of aggregate data and academic analysis for the University System as well as being responsible for USC Columbia assessment, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and analytics.  Donald provides oversight for the USC Columbia and USC System office responsibilities for internal and external reporting and analysis in support of the University’s mission, planning, and strategic decision-making. 

Donald has served in a number of progressive leadership roles within the office.  He has also served on numerous University committees, such as the University Assessment Advisory Committee, the USC Connect Council, the Carolina Core Committee, and the Planning, Assessment and Innovation Council.  He is a past president of the South Carolina Association for Institutional Research (SCAIR).

Before coming to the OIRAA in 2012, Donald worked for Aiken Technical College as the Director of Planning and Research, and at USC Aiken as the Coordinator of Institutional Statistics. He holds an MPA from Augusta State University and a BA in Political Science from USC Aiken.
