Program Description:

This program opportunity is focused on innovation and sustainability within the retail and design industries, with special emphasis on how innovation, sustainability and retail are integrated and growing. Students will be immersed in global innovation and sustainability, within the city of Copenhagen. Their experiences will be centered on application and demonstration of innovative techniques in alignment with sustainable practices within the retail environment. These experiences will be supported by guest lectures from designers, eco-conscious organizers on trend forecasting, and application of innovative practices. There will also be multiple workshops as well as tours of the city, design museums, and local businesses to better understand the culture, emphasis on design, innovation and sustainability. Innovation and sustainability are core components of the USC department of retailing majors, as such the students will also complete work while in Copenhagen and upon their return that demonstrates their comprehension of the learning objectives.
