Biography

Valerie Austin, MSP, CCC-SLP, is a Speech-Language Pathologist at USC Brain Health, where she performs comprehensive cognitive assessments for patients. She has been an adult Speech-Language Pathologist for eight years. 

Austin earned her first Master's degree in exercise science and her second in speech-language pathology, both at the University of South Carolina. She also earned an undergraduate degree in biological science at USC. 

Austin is passionate about providing patient-centered care and helping patients advocate for themselves. She has worked in variety of settings including acute care, acute rehabilitation, long-term care and assisted living facilities. She has an extensive history in treating patients with swallowing disorders, voice, language and cognitive deficits. 

Austin lives in Gilbert, SC with her family, which includes two children. She enjoys gardening and taking care of her animals.
