UofSC offers honorary leadership distinction

All students at UofSC with a GPA of 3.0 or higher may earn Graduation with Leadership Distinction (GLD),which appears on transcripts and diplomas. A student graduating with the distinction demonstrates extensive, purposeful engagement beyond the classroom, understands concepts in “real world” settings, and applies learning to make decisions and solve problems.
It is likely that most seniors have completed the majority of the requirements for the distinction and can get credit for what they have already accomplished. May 2015 graduates must complete the Orientation and register to pursue the distinction by Dec. 1. Students can also get support for completing the GLD presentation and E-Portfolio by registering for UNIV 401 for Graduation with Leadership Distinction (sections 100 and up).
Graduation with Leadership Distinction may be earned in community service, research, global learning (studying abroad), and/or professional and civic engagement (professional work experience and peer leadership). To qualify for the distinction, students complete "core" beyond-the-classroom experiences, three enhancement activities, six-credits in related coursework, a presentation or publication, and an e-portfolio.
All students interested in finding out more about Graduation with Leadership Distinction and its requirements should complete the GLD Online Orientation via Blackboard.
