The faculty of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, open-rank faculty position in experimental condensed matter physics to begin August 16, 2024.
Candidates must have a PhD in Physics and a record of research and publication by the start date of employment and potential for excellence in teaching. Individuals with interests in design, fabrication, and study of quantum materials-based devices are strongly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, build an independent externally funded research program, and interact with the vibrant quantum materials physics community on campus. The SmartState Center for Experimental Nanoscale Physics hosts a state-of-the-art shared facility for the design, fabrication, and characterization of quantum materials.
