Commencement days are busy times on the campus and in the Greater Columbia area. Plan ahead for parking so you don’t miss a second of your graduate’s big moment.

Expect heavy traffic on commencement days. Metered, street parking near commencement exercises at the Colonial Life Arena, Koger Center for the Arts and Horseshoe will be very limited. For easier travel and parking during commencement, the university provides a free shuttle service from on-campus garages to commencement sites.

Locations and Parking

Metered, street parking near the Colonial Life Arena and the Koger Center for the Arts will be very limited. There are two large parking lots within walking distance to both venues and parking is also available in the nearby Discovery Garage. Accessible parking is available in most, if not all, of these lots for those with a state-issued disability pass, sticker or license plate. The Pendleton Street Garage (entrance is on Bull Street) will be available for guests attending commencement exercises at the Historic Horseshoe. Guests may park at the metered spaces in the garage at no charge.

Free Shuttle Service

Park in any on-campus garage and enjoy free shuttle service to commencement ceremonies. Share, download or print the commencement parking map [pdf] to navigate your way to on-campus garages and commencement locations.
