Adjunct Faculty

An individual appointed as an adjunct faculty member serves as an honorary member of the faculty of the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy.

Adjunct faculty within the College of Pharmacy are typically employed as temporary faculty members and salaried by the college. Adjunct faculty members may be employed by another unit or units at the university or at another institution. The adjunct faculty title may be expanded to adjunct instructor, adjunct assistant professor, adjunct associate professor, or adjunct professors appropriate to the status of the individual. This status is dictated within the College of Pharmacy by the current appointment and promotion guidelines for College of Pharmacy professional-track faculty. Adjunct faculty earn no credit toward tenure. Appointments for adjunct faculty requires that the candidate meet the criteria for adjunct instructors outlined in the current USC Faculty Manual and from ACAF 1.06 - Academic Titles for Faculty and Unclassified Academic Staff Positions.
