Beyond the Classroom

The Jewish Studies Program is always trying to create spaces for students to pursue a fundamental element of who they are, and encouraging students down a path of discovery. Study abroad, student groups, and lecture series all support this mission.

Study Abroad

The Jewish Studies Program has established a travel grant that will pay a portion of students' expenses in their travels to Israel. In addition, there are many programs available through the Study Abroad Office that send students to Jewish universities abroad, or let them enroll in courses relevant to the Jewish Studies program.

Solomon-Tenenbaum Lecture

Every year, the Jewish Studies Program hosts a visiting expert who delivers a lecture to students, faculty, and community members on a subject pertinent to Jewish Studies. Attendees are then welcome to participate in a panel discussion with local and non-local panelists.

Campus and Community Resources

In addition to a lively collection of student groups on campus, Jewish students have access to a myriad of community resources in the greater Columbia area.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
