South Carolina Resident Scholarships
University and state awards are available for freshmen who reside in South Carolina.
UofSC offers a wide range of scholarships for both residents of South Carolina and nonresidents that can make your education even more affordable.
The university is piloting a test-optional admissions policy for students who are applying for the 2021 terms. Beginning in fall 2021, students who have excellent grades and competitive supplemental admission materials are considered for merit scholarships awarded by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
While students are encouraged to continue to self-report standardized test scores, SAT and ACT scores are not required in either the admission or scholarship awarding process. Previously, scholarships were awarded based solely on high school GPA and SAT/ACT scores. The average high school GPA and SAT/ACT scores of last year’s recipients provided on our website are for comparative purposes.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers a generous array of scholarships for nonresident freshmen.

This need-based financial and academic support program helps make a South Carolina education accessible and affordable.
