Substance Abuse Prevention and Education

Recovery Allies

Through Recovery Ally workshops, Gamecock Recovery strives to create a network of students, faculty and staff who promote a recovery-minded culture that is accepting, engaging, and supportive of all students in recovery from substance use disorder. Participants learn to identify and respond to stigmatizing language, dispel myths about substance use disorder, and build a pro-recovery campus community.

Students

Based on surveys with students in recovery, the student Recovery Ally Workshop includes suggestions for creating a recovery-friendly social scene, and supporting a friend in early recovery.

Student workshops are held via Zoom. Pre-registration is required.

Faculty & Staff

Using a recovery oriented systems of care model, faculty and staff sessions focus on conveying campus norms in the classroom and building recovery-supportive workplaces.

Held--via Teams--on the third Friday of each month, and every other month on the second Tuesday. Sign up through Human Resources Training and Professional Development.
