Columbia has some beautiful local areas perfect for short hikes: Saluda River, Columbia Canal, and Congaree National Park.

Learn about Green Quad facilities, Sustainable Carolina activities, clubs on campus, and USC student support systems.

A Green Quad tradition, this monthly service project sees us visit the local Rocky Branch Creek which flows through the middle of campus and pick up litter.  Boots, gloves, buckets and pickers provided!

What will farming look like in 100 years?  Hydroponics, aeroponics, aquaponics, and automation systems are up and running and on display in the Learning Center for Sustainable Futures on the Green Quad grounds!

Get out in nature with an overnight camping trip!  Climbing, canoeing, campfire, and chili.

Each year we celebrate the Autumnal and Vernal Equinox with an outdoor festival!  Food trucks, games, giveaways, music, and free plants!

Discussions about sustainability technology topics over a nice meal.  Solar, nuclear, biomass, and more!

Head to the coast to explore and learn about ecosystems around the Baruch Research Institute near Georgetown, SC.

Monthly informal events with Green Quad staff.  Coffee & Cake, Coke & Cookies, Campfire & Cobbler

Enjoy dinner with invited guests to discuss various sustainability topics including: eating from the garden, City of Columbia climate change policy, earthships, and more!

What makes yoga better?  Yorkies!  Tinkerbell and Max (Dr. Gatzke's dogs) will sometimes make an appearance at Green Quad Yoga nights!

Earth Day gives us a chance to have an end of year celebration and recognize our Green Quad Scholars as a capstone to the year!
