Report Concerns
The university has caring professionals dedicated to student success and well-being
by identifying concerns, addressing those concerns with the student, and referring
them to campus and community resources. Anyone in the Carolina community who feels
a student is a risk to themselves or the community can report a concern; including
students, parents, faculty and staff, and other community members.
Student Care and Outreach Team (Care Team)
The university’s Care and Outreach Team is an interdisciplinary group representing
law enforcement, student conduct, counseling, residence life and other departments.
Members work collaboratively to help keep the campus safe when students display behavior
that could cause harm to themselves or others.
Counseling & Psychiatry
UofSC’s counselors and psychiatrists provides essential therapy, emotional wellness and
medication management for students. Services are available by appointment or walk-in
basis. In addition, after-hours services are available by phone.
Interpersonal Violence Report
Report a student-on-student incident you have experienced, witnessed, or have had
heard about. NOTE: If the incident is faculty-student or staff-student, make the report
on the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs' online Incident Report at sc.edu/eop.
Substance Abuse Referral
Are you concerned about a UofSC student's substance use? Refer them to STIR (Students
Taking Initiative & Responsibility). They can help students that have substance use
concerns and coach them to reduce high-risk behaviors.
