An experienced professional with years of legislative and public service experience across state government, Craig provides strategic advice to university administration on public policy, legislative engagement, and critical issues affecting USC, higher education, and the state at large. He advocates for the USC system with legislators, their staff, and key stakeholders such as the State Fiscal Accountability Authority, Executive Budget Office, Governor’s Office, Joint Bond Review Committee and the SC Commission on Higher Education. Craig coordinates advocacy efforts with the USC Alumni Association and leads the Southeastern Conference’s state government relations group. Craig holds a Bachelor's in Government from Wofford College (’97) and a Master’s in Public Administration from USC (’99).

Derrick provides a centralized point of contact for legislative and non-legislative matters pertaining to the university system for elected officials, constituents, organizations and individuals. He advises the university president and leadership on issues that could impact USC, while fostering close collaboration with legislators, their staff, state agencies, stakeholders, and other higher education institutions to achieve USC’s desired outcomes. Derrick also manages the president’s Community Advisory and works to establish and nurture community partnerships and outreach to enhance USC’s engagement with surrounding communities. Derrick holds an Associate's from USC Sumter (’88) and a Bachelor's in Government and International Studies from USC Columbia (’89).
