Students who were confirmed to receive wristbands to the Brad Paisley Country Nation College Tour, which will take place Friday (Oct. 16), may pick up their wristband from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 13) on Davis Field. Students must present their Carolina Card student ID to claim their wristband.

Presented by My Carolina Alumni Association and sponsored by Zaxby’s, the concert is part of homecoming week activities. As the Gamecock family comes together for homecoming, the University of South Carolina continues its focus on serving the needs of communities affected by flooding across the state.

The Brad Paisley performance currently remains as scheduled and will support and honor the greater Midlands community.

The concert, scheduled for 7:30–10 p.m. in front of the Alumni Center on Senate and Lincoln streets, will kick off with Eric Paslay before headliner Paisley takes the stage. Student wristbands are for general access viewing.

Sections of Senate and Lincoln streets will close at 5:30 p.m. and gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Gates will be located at Senate and Park streets, Lincoln Street near Liberty Tap Room and Lincoln Street north of Pendleton Street. Students are encouraged to walk to the Alumni Center. However, the university will have a shuttle available that will run from the Pendleton Street garage to Park Street at the S.C. Department of Transportation building. The shuttle will begin to run at 5 p.m. and the fee is $3 per rider/round trip.

Food and beverages will be sold during the concert. IDs will be required for the purchase of adult beverages for students 21 years or older. Porta-johns also will be available. The following items will not be permitted: chairs, coolers, umbrellas, large backpacks, pets, outside food and beverages, weapons of any kind, illegal substances and professional photography equipment.

For questions about the concert, contact My Carolina at 803-777-4111 or connect@mycarolina.org.

Students will have the opportunity to see the new Alumni Center on Wednesday for the homecoming commission’s annual Trivia Night from 8 to 10 p.m., with tours beginning at 6:30 p.m. Details on other homecoming events for students is available online.

Throughout homecoming week, students will have many service opportunities to help with community projects as the Midlands and the state recovers from the floods. As of Oct. 10, 1,143 Gamecock volunteers served at 34 sites for a total of 3,885 hours of service.

More information about service activities and how to help is available online.
