Carolina Can aims to collect canned goods and donations for the Harvest Hope Food Bank in the South Carolina cities of Columbia, Florence and Greenville.

The food drive is not only a means of fundraising, but also a way of raising awareness for the poverty issues within South Carolina – where 23 percent of children live below the poverty level, and one in six people struggle with hunger. The drive is centered around the UofSC vs. Clemson football game, and the school that collects the most cans will be announced at halftime.

Carolina Can needs your help. Donations will be accepted from Nov. 2 to Nov. 23 at multiple locations across campus including:

  • Greek Village
  • Thomas Cooper Library
  • Athletic Village: Dodie and Rice
  • 650 Lincoln
  • South Quad
  • East Quad
  • Gamecock Bi-Lo
  • South Tower
  • Shuttle stops in front of the Horseshoe (College of Journalism and Mass Communications - 800 Sumter St. if raining)
  • Blatt P.E. Center
  • Pickens Street Bridge
  • Russell House
  • Strom Thurmond Fitness Center

To make a $10 monetary donation, text "HHFB Cocks" to 501501. All donations will be given to Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Carolina Can at UofSC is coordinated by the Student Athletic Advisory Committee with support from Gamecock Athletics and in partnership with Harvest Hope Food Bank.
