Program Description
This will be an interactive workshop with activities designed to engage students with library services and resources. The library workshop is designed to teach students introductory research skills that can be transferred to classes and coursework throughout their college career.
The library workshop will cover set content. If you have a research assignment on which your students will be working we will do our best to incorporate the assignment. If your research assignment falls outside of our workshop content we can advise you on ways that you can follow up with your students. Please contact Karen Brown (777-4267 or kwbrown@mailbox.sc.edu) with questions regarding the viability of a research assignment.
You will receive an email from a library staff member confirming your attendance at least two weeks beforehand. If you would like us to consider incorporating an assignment into your library workshop we must receive the assignment at least one week before the scheduled date. It is your responsibility to make certain we received the assignment. As mentioned above, if your research assignment falls outside of what is covered we can advise you on ways that you can follow up with your students to assist them in completing an assignment.
If you prefer to lead the library research session yourself and would like use the multimedia classrooms in the library, please contact Timothy Simmons at 777-6244 to schedule an appointment to review the resources you will be covering and the classroom equipment.
