Fall Semester Support

There are multiple opportunities for instructors to receive support during the fall semester.

UNIV 101 Faculty Meetings

Faculty meetings allow UNIV 101 instructors to share ideas, learn from each other and participate in the governance of University 101. They are also an important opportunity for the University 101 Programs staff to provide instructors with important announcements, communicate and clarify new expectations, and discuss emerging issues and trends. Faculty meetings will take place from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.

  • Friday, September 15, Russell House Ballroom
  • Friday, November 3, Capstone Campus Room

U101 Table Talks

These small group meetings are held throughout the fall to provide support for instructors when they need it. These informal gatherings allow instructors to share best practices, seek assistance with challenging situations, and identify colleagues who may be facing similar issues. Instructors can RSVP through ScheduleCenter. The fall 2023 U101 Table Talks will take place from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. in Russell House 348 on the following days:

  • Thursday, September 21
  • Wednesday, October 18
  • Tuesday, November 21

Lessons from the Road Workshops

The purpose of these workshops is to give University 101 Instructors the opportunity to experience and participate in the effective facilitation of tried-and-true lesson plans. Workshops will be offered throughout the fall and will be facilitated by University 101 Programs staff members or instructors. Instructors can RSVP through ScheduleCenter.

U101 in Action!

U101 in Action! is an opportunity for instructors to see how other University 101 instructors address the UNIV 101 learning outcomes, co-teach and interact with their students.

Colleague Clusters

Colleague Clusters offer instructors a way to network and foster academic community. These are small groups of five to seven instructors who can serve as a support network for each other. Clusters share ideas, successes and resources with each other and communicate in a variety of ways, including face-to-face, GroupMe and hybrid options. Sign-up information will be available in June.

Other Fall Workshops

Occasionally the University 101 Programs staff will host workshops throughout the fall semester in response to current needs and trends affecting instructors.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
