Bio
| Background: | I am a physician who specializes in the overlap between medical and psychiatric conditions and here is how I got to this point in my life: I grew up in Hilton Head, SC where I spent most of my days playing tennis and enjoying the beaches. I am an alumnus of the SC Governor's School for Science and Math. After high school, I attended Wake Forest University where I majored in Chemistry and Biochemistry and minored in Biology and Psychology. After college, I spent two years in Bethesda, MD at the National Institute of Mental Health completing a research fellowship in Mood and Anxiety Disorders. My primary project was examining the fear response in people diagnosed with Anxiety and Depressive Disorders. Following this fellowship, I completed my Undergraduate Medical School Training at the Medical University of SC where I also completed my residency in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. Currently, I am employed at Prisma Health Upstate and have a joint appointment in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. My focus of my work is providing clinical care as a Internal Medicine Hospitalist and Consult-Liaison Psychiatry. My secondary role is providing clinical training to residents and medical students in both departments. |
