Role at the Center: Barbara F. Tobolowsky is responsible for the Center's publications as well as its research and resource areas. Dr. Tobolowsky has conducted extensive research on the influence of media on the college expectations of underrepresented populations. Additionally, she has researched issues around parent involvement, college choice, media ethics, and faculty retention. In addition to her research background, she served as head of the screenwriting unit at the University of California, Los Angeles Extension for over six years and taught the Foundations of Education course to undergraduates and graduates in the Education department/schools at UCLA and the University of Southern California.
Prior to her work in education, she was a script development excecutive in the film industry.
