The global financial meltdown and the public response—from Main Street to Wall Street—have spawned a broad set of concerns about the importance of business journalism in the new media environment. News organizations, journalism schools, and public policy makers have all called for greater emphasis on responsive and enterprising business journalism. The purpose of this conference is to provide a forum for the exploration of the frontiers of both convergent journalism and business journalism, the presentation of research regarding business journalism, and the creation of a set of best practices in training journalists to report on the activities of business communities.  This conference provides a forum for panel discussions, essays, research, and demonstrations related to any area related to business journalism and convergent journalism.

Abstracts, completed papers, and panel proposals for this conference should deal with the primary conference themes or related issues.
