Convergence
Conference Heads West….
The University of South Carolina’s
annual Convergent Journalism conference is co-sponsored
this year by the Reynolds School of Journalism at University
of Nevada, Reno and the College of Mass Communications & Information
Studies at the University of South Carolina.
Conference Co-Chairs
are UNR’s Larry Dailey and USC’s Augie Grant. More
than 45 paper, panel, and abstract submissions have been reviewed,
and the accepted submissions have been assembled into a program
that explores the conference themes.
The sponsors are hosting
a pre-conference reception Wednesday, November 4, from 7-9 PM
at the Silver Legacy Hotel. The conference opens at 8:00 am,
Thursday, November 5th with a full day of sessions on the UNR
campus. Thursday ends with our Keynote Speaker (tba). Friday
features a full day of sessions on the UNR campus. The conference
ends Friday evening with the Participatory Plenary roundtable
discussion allowing everyone an opportunity to discuss the issues
and research explored during the conference.
