Robert R. Newlen is the assistant law librarian for Collections, Outreach, and Services in the Law Library of Congress, Library of Congress. He previously served as assistant director of the Knowledge Services Group and the head of legislative relations for the Congressional Research Service, Library of Congress.
Newlen is a member of the USC School of Library and Information Science National Advisory Council.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Bridgewater College, a Master of Arts from American University, and an M.S.L.S. from the Catholic University.
He is a frequent speaker on resume writing and interviewing and author of "Resume Writing and Interviewing Techniques That Work: A How-To-Do-It Manual for Librarians." He has served as director of the board of the District of Columbia Library Association, as a member of the executive board of the American Library Association (ALA), and as trustee of the ALA Endowment. He currently serves on ALA's Legislation Committee. |
