Rita
Cosby is an award winning journalist, television host,
correspondent and author. She currently works as a special
correspondent for CBS “Inside Edition.”
Her
work in broadcast journalism has landed her accolades such
as three Emmys, Jack Anderson Award, Matrix Award and Ellis
Island Medal of Honor.
In 2007, Cosby’s first book Blonde Ambition:
The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith’s
Death topped the New York Times best-seller list.
This
past May Cosby published her second book, Quiet Hero:
Secrets From My Father’s Past, where she reveals how she
uncovered the story of her father and his long-kept secrets
of his experiences during WWII. A portion of the book’s
proceeds will be donated to wounded U.S. soldiers.
Cosby is the former host of high-rated primetime shows
including Fox News Channel’s “The Big Story
Weekend Edition” and “Live with Rita Cosby,” as
well as MSNBC’s “Rita Cosby Live & Direct.”
She
began her career at CBS news stations KERO-TV in Bakersfield,
Calif. and WBTV in Charlotte, N.C.
Cosby earned her B.A. in broadcast journalism from the
University of South Carolina in 1989. During her time at
USC she worked for WUSC, The Daily Gamecock and interned
at WLTX , the local CBS affiliate, and at WIS, the local
NBC affiliate. |
