Also on hand was Roger
Leonard, a Columbia artist whose original oil on
canvas "Davis College: The First Hundred Years," is
pictured at the top of this page.
A limited number of signed
prints are available for purchase from the School.
The highlight of the event was a special guest appearance
by R. Means Davis (after whom the building is named)
and Havilah Babcock (an author, educator and outdoorsman
who taught at USC from 1927-1964).
Dr. Chuck Curran,
who teaches in the School, played the role of Davis.
SLIS undergraduate advisor Andy Thomas re-enacted
the role of Babcock. (Watch excerpts of both of their
performances in the video.)
Guests were also treated to tours of Gibbes Green
and Davis College and enjoyed traditional birthday
fare.
