It is your permanent University ID, plus a flexible spending card. The CarolinaCard is your all-in-one card with two accounts:
Carolina Cash is for all non-dining purchases across campus. You can use Carolina Cash for purchases at the Russell House University Bookstore, for copies at the Thomas Cooper Library, for prescriptions and other fees at the Thompson Student Health Center, at the Career Center, for your student membership in the Carolina Alumni Association, and even at some drink machines around campus. New places to use Carolina Cash are added each semester.
Dining Dollars are for miscellaneous food purchases and between-meals snacks beyond your meal plan and can be used at all Carolina Dining locations. Keep in mind that your CarolinaCard is also used to access your Carolina Dining meal. Contact CarolinaCard Office, Russell House Union. Health Insurance: Student Health Insurance Plans are available for purchase by students. See the Health Insurance page for more information.
Activity Fee (Columbia campus only): Contact 803-777-4233 with any questions about the activity fee. Note: Full-time students do NOT select this option. Part-time students taking at least 6 hours may elect to pay the optional University fee to receive all the benefits and privileges of a full-time student such as Student Health Center, athletic events, student activities, etc.
