FRATERNITY AND SORORITY LIFE AT USC

For more than 100 years, fraternities and sororities have contributed to the excitement of life at the University of South Carolina. Approximately 18 percent of all undergraduate students participate in the Greek system at USC.

Seeking to Serve

As part of this strongly service-oriented community, you and your chapter mates develop outreach projects for a variety of charitable organizations in and around Columbia, providing help to those in need. In 2010, Carolina Greek organizations donated more than $394,000 and 63,000 service hours to local agencies including opening their doors to neighborhood children for Halloween trick-or-treating.

Strong Core Values

Scholarship, leadership, service and friendship are the core values of USC's fraternities and sororities. With the support of peers, you'll learn to step up into leadership roles within your chapter and the larger Greek system, while also maintaining effective study habits and strong academic performance.

Through community service projects, fundraisers and social gatherings, you'll discover the benefits of mutual assistance as you develop friendships that can last a lifetime.

20 Fraternity and sorority residences in USC's Greek Village

Almost two-thirds of USC Greek organizations currently support residential facilities in a new neighborhood located near the Strom Thurmond Wellness & Fitness Center; other chapters reside in on-campus residence halls.
