Research Flights

The Office of Research and Grant Development works with Flight Operations to facilitate overnight research flights to Washington, D.C. on a regular basis, providing free transportation for faculty researchers and research staff to meet with funding agencies.

The Office of Research and Grant Development collaborates with University of South Carolina Flight Operations to provide free air transportation to Washington, D.C. for USC faculty researchers and their research support staff.

These same-day or overnight round-trip flights depart Columbia from Jim Hamilton – L.B. Owens Airport and land at Washington, D.C.’s Manassas Regional Airport. Research flights are offered several times per month throughout the academic year.
