Recordings of the UofSC School of Medicine Columbia's 2021 Commencement and Hooding Ceremonies are now available:

- Graduate Professional Programs Hooding and Awards Ceremony*
- Doctor of Medicine Hooding, Military Promotion, and Awards Ceremony*
*The hooding ceremonies include pre-recorded messages prior to the start of the live ceremony.
2021 Hooding Ceremonies Information
Graduates and Guests: Review how to prepare for the 2021 Hooding Ceremonies.
Each May, the School of Medicine Columbia hosts hooding ceremonies for eligible certificate,
master's, and doctoral students. This year the school will host two hooding ceremonies,
one for graduate professional program students and one for medical students. The ceremonies
are open to students graduating in December 2020, May 2021, August 2021 and December
2021.

A pre-recorded Commencement Ceremony will be available to view at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021. The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia Hooding Ceremonies will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Columbia Conference Center (2100 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210). The Hooding Ceremony for the Graduate Programs will begin at 11:00 a.m. The Hooding Ceremony for the Doctor of Medicine Program will begin at 3:00 p.m.
In adherence with CDC-recommended COVID-19 guidelines for Physical (Social) Distancing, the 2021 UofSC SOMC Hooding Ceremonies will be limited to graduating students and up to three (3) guests, and limited faculty/staff for in-person attendance. Additionally, we require that faculty, staff, graduates and ceremony attendees wear well-fitting masks that cover their nose and mouth at all times. Masks should not be placed on children younger than 2 years old.
