Progression Requirements
Students seeking professional-division status must fulfill the department's 45 credit-hour progression requirement and that of the college. A minimum grade point average of 2.50 must be achieved. Students not meeting the specific course, semester hour, grade point average, and practicum requirements for progression must continue in the pre-professional division or change to another major. Graduation requires a 2.50 minimum GPA.
1. Curriculum for the Pre-professional Division (45 hours)
General Education (12 hours)
ENGL 101 and 102 (6 hours)
Mathematics (6 hours)
To be satisfied using one of the following options:
a. MATH 122 or higher and a second higher MATH course, except MATH 221, 222.
b. MATH 122 or higher and one course in statistics.
c. two courses in statistics.
Sport and Entertainment Management Courses (15 hours)
SPTE 201, 274, 295 (6), and one SPTE elective
Other Courses (18 hours)
a. ECON 224; RETL 261, 262; MKTG 350, MGMT 371; SPCH 140
2. Restricted Courses
The following courses are restricted to students enrolled in the professional division of the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management or those students who receive special permission of the department chair: SPTE 295, 440, 444, 495, and all 500-level and above courses.
Only students admitted to the professional division of sport and entertainment management will be allowed to enroll for more than 18 credit hours of SPTE course work.
3. Graduation Requirement
In addition to meeting all specific academic degree requirements, students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 on all USC work attempted in order to receive a degree in sport and entertainment management.

Humanities and Social Sciences (21 hours)
Seven courses with a maximum of two courses in each field
Courses must include:
a. SPCH 140
b. ARTH 105, 106 or ARTE 101 or mUSC 110
c. at least one course in history
Foreign Languages--Students shall demonstrate in one foreign language the ability to comprehend the topic and main ideas in written and, with the exception of Latin and Ancient Greek, spoken texts on familiar subjects. This ability can be demonstrated by achieving a score of two or better on a USC foreign language proficiency test. Those failing to do so must satisfactorily complete equivalent study of foreign language at USC.
Mathematics and Sciences (13 hours)
Six hours in mathematics and/or related areas are required.
This requirement may be fulfilled in any of the following ways:
a. MATH 122 or higher and a second higher MATH course, except MATH 221, 222
b. MATH 122 or higher and one course in statistics
c. two courses in statistics.
Two courses (one of which must have a laboratory) from the following sciences: astronomy, biology, chemistry, geological sciences, marine science, physics (7 hours).
