Brian has been involved with various aspects of risk management and loss control for more than 30 years. He has completed coursework and certification as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), a designation obtained by only a small percentage of executives and recognized as one of the premier designations throughout the risk management and property-casualty insurance business.

Brian is also credentialed as an Associate in Risk Management – Enterprise Risk Management (ARM-E), an Associate in Risk Management – Public Entities (ARM-P), a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). These designations ensure competency in the application of the risk management process and aid in the understanding of approaches to manage key business risks and opportunities.

Skip manages day-to-day operations of the university’s insurance program. His primary responsibilities include claims management and the procurement/maintenance of both state-mandated and other required insurance policies. His position allows him to collaborate with a diverse group of university contacts and outside representatives.

Skip has completed coursework and certification as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), a designation obtained by only a small percentage of executives and recognized as one of the premier designations throughout the risk management and property-casualty insurance business. He is also credentialed as an Associate in Risk Management - Public Entities (ARM-P) and as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM). A 2003 graduate of the university, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration while majoring in insurance and risk management, marketing and management. Prior to returning to the university, he spent more than eight years with the South Carolina Insurance Reserve Fund (IRF). During his time at the IRF, he was assigned as the field agent for the university’s account.
