The INCLUDES Initiative is a comprehensive, national effort to enhance U.S. leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) discovery and innovation, focused on NSF’s commitment to ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in STEM fields.

With this solicitation, NSF offers support for five types of projects that connect and contribute to the National Network: (1) Design and Development Launch Pilots (Every Even Year), (2) Collaborative Change Consortia (Every Even Year), (3) Alliances (Every Odd Year), (4) Network Connectors (annually), and (5) Conferences (please see the program page/NOFO for the deadline for conference submissions, as it differs from the other programs and is not subject to institutional limits).

This internal competition for 2024 is for only the following project types: (1) Design and Development Launch Pilots, (2) Collaborative Change Consortia, and (3) Network Connectors.

Investigators planning to submit a proposal are strongly encouraged to submit a one-page description of their proposal idea to nsfincludes@nsf.gov at least three months prior to proposal submission. An INCLUDES program director with related expertise will review and provide feedback on the alignment of the idea with the solicitation.

NOTE regarding institutional limits: An organization may serve as a lead organization on only one proposal per project type, not including conferences.
