The CISE Research Infrastructure (CRI)... Institutional Infrastructure (II) awards support the creation of new (II-NEW) CISE research infrastructure or the enhancement (II-EN) of existing CISE research infrastructure to enable world-class CISE research opportunities at the awardee and collaborating institutions.

USC may submit no more than three Institutional Infrastructure (II) preliminary/final proposals to this solicitation. Your application submission MUST be coordinated with the Office of the Vice President for Research. Your application submission MUST be coordinated with the Office of the Vice President for Research. Please send a two page abstract via email to Richard White (whitejrw@mailbox.sc.edu) by September 28, 2017. In addition to the 2-page abstract, you should also submit a biosketch for the PI.

NSF indicates that a Letter of Intent is NOT REQUIRED, but a Preliminary Proposal is required to be eligible to submit a Full Proposal. Preliminary proposals are due November 02, 2017. Submitters will receive feedback from program staff indicating either encourage or discourage. An "encouraged" finding generally indicates that the proposal appears to be responsive to the CRI program guidelines and is a candidate for further development relative to the CRI solicitation. The feedback provided pursuant to the preliminary proposal is advisory only; submitters of both "encouraged" and "discouraged" preliminary proposals are eligible to submit full proposals. These are due by January 11, 2018.
