The Office of Research is proud to celebrate ten years of the Magellan undergraduate research funding program, which has sent more than 1,000 students on expeditions to discovery in every discipline.
Initiated in 2005, the Magellan Scholar program is celebrating a huge milestone this fall: 10 years, more than 1,000 undergraduate research projects and $3 million in funding for curious students. Added to this, over the years, are eight more programs to celebrate and support our students under the Magellan umbrella. These numbers hint at a larger story that we’re telling here, and celebrating throughout the 2015-2016 academic year. Friday, April 22, 2016: Discovery Day showcases students’ scholarly pursuits in and out of the classroom. It is an annual event for undergraduates at USC: all years, all disciplines, and all campuses.
Caravel is USC’s online undergraduate research journal, which chronicles student research and creativity. Named for the type of ship Magellan and other explorers used to travel the globe, Caravel aims to provide a publication forum for students within the USC system to showcase their research, creative and scholarly works from all disciplines.
