USC Symphony season finale is April 13
The USC Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Donald Portnoy, will present its season finale at 7:30 p.m. April 13 in the Koger Center for the Arts, which is located at the corner of Assembly and Greene Streets.
The finale shines a light on the musical virtuosity of two accomplished musicians on the USC School of Music faculty—pianist Marina Lomazov and trumpeter James Ackley. They will perform Shostakovich's Concerto for Piano, Trumpet, and Strings. The orchestra also will perform Mendelssohn's Fingal's Cave Overture, op. 26 and Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, op. 45.
A pre-concert chat will be held at 6:45 p.m. in the Large Rehearsal Room of the Koger Center.
Tickets for this event are $25 adults; $20 USC faculty and staff, and senior citizens; $8 students.
