Ployhart named to Moore School endowed chair

Dr. Robert Ployhart has been named the Bank of America Professor of Business Administration at the Darla Moore School of Business.
Ployhart, a management professor, joined the University of South Carolina’s faculty in August 2004. A prolific scholar, Ployhart has published more than 80 scholarly articles and book chapters, made more than 100 presentations at conferences and has written two books and has another under contract with Oxford that is set to be complete next year.
He has served on the editorial boards of six scientific journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology where he is an associate editor. His awards and honors are numerous, including a Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contributions by the American Psychological Association and the Journal of Management’s Best Paper Award and Scholarly Impact Award.
He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Ployhart, 41, earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from North Dakota State University, a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Bowling Green State University and a doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology from Michigan State University. Ployhart is among 10 faculty at the Moore School to hold a chaired professorship. The Bank of America Professorship of Business Administration was originally endowed as the Citizens and Southern National Bank Chair of Business Administration in 1961.
