USC introduces Saturday classes for web design

The University of South Carolina will begin a Saturday-only professional-development course in web design beginning May 7.

“Our flexible, open-enrollment format currently offers weekday classes and allows students one year to complete all classes in the certificate,” said Kate Shelton, director of Continuing Education & Conferences. “With the addition of the Saturday format, we will be able to offer busy Columbia area professionals another option to take classes at times that are convenient for them.”

The program offers two curriculum options for working professionals: individual courses and a certificate program. For professionals seeking to learn a specific skill, the department offers a range of hands-on individual courses that address industry-standard web skills, including HTML, cascading style sheets and programs such as Photoshop and Dreamweaver. The certificate program enables professionals the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of the web industry and core technologies used by the industry’s leading professionals.
