USC Dance Company to present ‘Innovative Works’
Rowlson-Hall is a 2006 graduate from North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in modern dance. She lives in New York and has presented her work at Lincoln Center Clark Theater, Dance New Amsterdam, Ailey Citi-Group Theater, Dixon Place and many others.
Two original works by USC faculty will be performed as well. Thaddeus Davis will premiere a brand new work, “Between You, Me and the Lamppost,” set to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. And the company will perform “Piano Concerto No. 2,” a playful contemporary ballet piece by artistic director Susan Anderson, set to the music of Dmitri Shostakovich. “Piano Concerto No. 2” is a remake of a work Anderson choreographed for the University of Buffalo’s Zodiaque Dance Company in 2000.
The company will also reprise a work by Alan Hineline, “Thresholds v. 2.2,” last performed at the “On the Edge: Classics to Contemporary” concert in October 2009.
