Anderson called the award “a great, great honor” and accepted the plaque on behalf of all of Carolina’s faculty, administrators and students.
“We are put on this earth with a mission and a purpose,” said Anderson, explaining that her mission has been to influence the world of dance.
Davidson lauded Anderson for her dreams.
“Susan Anderson has said that she is just getting started,” Davidson said. “Her vision continues.”
In addition to the Governor’s Professor of the Year honors for faculty at the state’s four-year colleges and universities, the CHE also presents an award to faculty at the state’s two-year colleges.
Chris Thomas, a psychology instructor at Florence-Darlington Technical College, was honored for his achievements in using technology in the classroom.
