Nov. 16 forum to focus on health care reform
After all the debate over health care reform, are you still a bit confused about how the new proposed health care changes may impact you as a faculty or staff member or as a student?
Join fellow students, staff, and professors in an open forum panel discussion from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 16 in the Law School Auditorium to review the legislative process to date, followed by a clarification and de-mystification of proposed health care reform legislation -- with an emphasis on topics most relevant to the University community. The forum will close with a discussion of steps for effecting policy change through engagement and action, with time for questions and answers.
Speakers will be Darcy Freedman, assistant professor, College of Social Work; Steve Beckham, University Government Affairs Liaison; John Ruoff, research director, South Carolina Fair Share; and Alan Tauber, President, University Graduate Student Association
Charles Bierbauer, dean, College of Mass Communications and Information Studies, will moderate the event, which is open to the public.
The forum is sponsored by the College of Social Work, Science and Communications Research Group, Institute for Partnerships to Eliminate Health Disparities, and South Carolina Access Initiative.
